Olivier.

When I drove out to Denver three and a half years ago in my Jeep, my best friend and I affectionately named her Olivier.  (Pronunciation: oh-liv-ee-ay)
Olivier was involved in an accident this morning.  She was parked at the time.  (Who hits a parked car?  Honestly.  Insert your own “Really?!? With Seth” monologue.)
No injuries, just a little bit of a hassle for the next couple days/weeks.
I bid a temporary adieu (outloud, in front of Shannon, the male tow truck driver) with the phrase…  ”ok, bye honey. i’ll see you later.”  It was a very sincere announcement and very strange to watch your car taken away on a tow truck.  (Side note: they haven’t even called to tell me how she’s doing.)
This must be a small glimpse of what it feels like for parents with college-bound (or Denver-bound) kids.
